Thank you to everyone who entered the DVD giveaway for two copies of “The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe”. The guest judge, Lili Wilkinson, has made her decision and so it’s time to announce the winners.
The instructions for the competition were as follows…
In 50 words or less, answer the following question: If you could spend Christmas with the Doctor, what Christmas present would you give him?
Now I’ll hand over to Lili…
“A stick of celery for his lapel.”
When the fifth Doctor got asked why he wore a stick of celery on his lapel, he replied that it was a safety precaution, because the celery turned purple when it was near gases in the praxis range of the spectrum. Then the Doctor could eat the celery, because it was good for his teeth, if nothing else. For Christmas it’d also be useful for garnishing a festive cocktail. And the 10th Doctor could always present it to his father-in-law as a gift.
“I’d give the Doctor an insulated screwdriver holder — along the lines of a stubby holder. That way whether he’s nearing the sun or about to freeze he will be able to hold his little saviour.”
This is a truly Australian gift — has the Doctor ever been to Australia? — and one that I’m sure he’ll find very useful indeed. Do they come in TARDIS Blue?
George’s bit at the end
