Write Now, Southern FM, 88.3 — Thursday 23 February 2012, 7-8pm
I will be appearing as a guest on the Southern FM radio show, Write Now, talking about the importance of encouraging people to read and the National Year of Reading 2012. This will be the first of my semi-regular appearances on this show for 2012.
Hampton Park Primary School — Tuesday 28 February 2012
I will visiting this school as part of the Carpet Court Storybook Challenge. I’ll be reading a story to the Year 3 & 4 students and then conducting a short workshop.
Doveton Library — Tuesday 22 May 2012
I will be doing two sessions (10.30am-11.30am & 11.45am-12.45pm), talking to primary school students about the writing process.
Continuum 8: The 51st Australian National SF Convention — 8-11 June 2012
The Continuum spec fic conventions are run annually in Melbourne. This time around they are doubling as the Australian National SF Convention. I’ll be there speaking on panels, doing readings and generally hanging around. Check out the website for more info about the con.
Con 9 From Outer Space! — 14-15 July 2012
Now here’s something a little different — a convention for aficionados of the “golden age” of science fiction film, television and radio. I’m not appearing at the convention, but I will be judging their short story competition. Check out the website for more info.
Scotch College — Friday 27 July 2012
I’ll be at Scotch College along with a bunch of other Ford Street Publishing authors to launch the new anthology, Trust Me Too, and to present three writing workshops.
Bayside Writing Competition — August 2012
For the third year running, I will be one of the judges for the school-aged section of the Bayside Writing Competition, held as part of the Bayside Literary Festival.
A Thousand Words Festival — 3-4 August 2012
I will be a guest speaker at this event, to be held at the Northcote Town Hall. More info as it becomes available…
Mentone Library — Saturday 25 August 2012
